The Road to Burnout

We’ve spent the last decade producing social media content for brands. In the last few years, we’ve felt an intense shift in content production leaning away from quality and edging closer to quantity; mass produced and disposable content.

When we set to work on Slabber, we had intended for the main aspect of this to be a way to give anonymous feedback to brands. When we tested the platform, we received resounding feedback that Happening was what people thought was our best feature.

So, in a world that needs more positivity – we changed course, removed the anonymous feature and have developed Slabber to help brands & businesses in Derry in numerous ways.

a) promote events, gigs, career opportunities, classes, clubs, services & more in a clear, organised way via our visual guide of Derry called Happening. No more worrying if the algorithm will limit your reach when you’re just trying to promote your business (or losing customers who aren’t on social media). See things that are happening in Derry at a glance.

b) to feature exciting upcoming brands in interviews and original film content that tells their story in a thought provoking way.

This will only be a success if the people of the city get behind it and collaborate with us to let people know what is going on.

At the core of Slabber is a deep, burning desire to create meaningful content, on our own terms. We don’t want to become another platform churning out content for double taps, on a road to burnout. We want to create slower, intentional and compelling content that tells real stories in a very candid and human way. Our first instalment is below and features local comedian Joseph Carlin before his last show.
